i want to like it, however, its difficult for me. i know of course a lot of fans are going to hate this review, but this is my honest opinion and my issues with this story.
before i go into what i dislike, though, I'll first point out the things i like. i like the art, it's very pretty, i like the complex characters, the dynamics, and of course the emotional growth of the villainess. The villainess starts off as a villainess, however, she grows and moves past that, and the heroine doesn't immediately forgive her wrongdoings, which is realistic to real people as well.
however, i will admit it got very frustrating watching them make progress only for things to go back to square one out of nowhere. The heroine at many points said many mean things to the villainess in an attempt to distance herself from her, in one event she said something along the lines of "i enjoy watching you suffer, but you're not crying anymore, so i find you boring," or something. i don't think she apologized later and it annoyed me. It genuinely felt like enemies to friends to enemies to lovers. its also important to note that I'm not particularly a fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, so if you are, you might enjoy what i didn't.
Continuing on to my main reasons for such a low score. The villainess's sister, I'll call her pink hair because i don't know her name tbh. Pink hair seems to have a connection or something with this red-haired crazy chick. Red hair invites her to meet the princess of another nation, and she accepts since she desperately wishes to be a princess.

Spoiler!
while shes there, the red haired chick and the princess ditch her, and then she goes out onto the balcony and some freak guy from this nation asks her if shes white and pink down there. what the fu**? she runs out and tells them he's molesting her since he's attempting too, but the princess and red hair is no where to be found, she runs outside since no one is doing anything and then the men begin to hunt her down. pink hair ends up killing one, and then red hair conveniently shows up right after. this event causes pink hair to fear men, and be more comfortable around women, and if I read the chapter correctly I believe red hair did it on purpose, she said something like "there's a difference from a woman with power and a woman," and "how could she be a princess if she couldn't kill someone," which leads me to believe red haired girl purposely did this in order to lead pink hair towards women instead of men, which if that's the case that's horrible and unforgivably toxic.

Either way, after that, i cant bring myself to rate it higher. Also, in multiple parts they make it seem like being gay is a choice, as if someone could make you gay, which is a very toxic stereotype that straight up needs to stop showing up. I'm tired of the straight character "being corrupted" into being gay.
**it was still too long so now there's a third part of the review :, (**

The pink-haired girl kind of uses that stereotype with the prince, telling him a rumor about the other guy, she claims he enjoys the company of men and then she says something like "arent you worried he'll change your preference?" or something. not only that, it looks like the red-haired girl plans on taking advantage of Pink's new trauma in order to make her lesbian and if that is the case, simply put, wtf.
Can't they just write them to already have the preference, or at least have them already be bi, or they didn't realize they were gay/lesbian because they didn't consider it before but they find that they are into it rather then using these harmful themes.
