Let Me Fall Be Brilliant

It's... lukewarm. A 98 degrees story. When you read it, it's like putting your hand in water with the same temperature as you body and... Keeping it there. 

Is it a bad thing? No, quite the contrary. It's relaxing. It's enjoyable. You might pïss yourself a little, but it's not a bad experience. It won't surprise you tho. It won't make your heart skip a beat. It's due a combination of reasons.

First of all, characterization is exceedingly... placid. They are mature, and credible, but also too much of that. Except a couple of antagonists, who are clearly àsshats, most of the cast is depicted in a scale of greys, without giving in to much drama, or clichè overreactions. 

With this kind of tranquil storytelling we then have a pretty great art department. Polished. Still, not particularly a fan of the character design. 

The theme, however, remains... the stillness. The pacing follows that. It kinda focuses on Sonnet, the island, first and foremost. On Sonnet, ML and FL live. Everything revolves the island's matters, with their relationships orbiting that. Thank Gød the chapters are pretty short tho, so you won't feel the dread of a slow pacing in the end.

Well I didn't hate it. But not loving it either. Still, I can admit it has a clear feel going for it, and good execution. 8+ on the Ivern Scale™️. They should focus more on character development AND inflict more change upon the cast. The risk here is getting stagnant and overindulging in somber and melancholic slice-of-exile storytelling. Push the pedal on the double-front sibling war, babe.

Will definitely recommend it , it's a nice and refreshing story Bt the pace is slow , still not a boring read
